Brett Erickson: "The car was great. Bill Culter at B&B Racing gave us good equipment (as always). The experience that I gained was invaluable! Robert really helped keep me stay focused and pushing hard...we drove our hearts out!"

Robert Orcut: "Oh boy! What a race. It rained so damn hard in the beginning! Twice I parked the car in the mud...I went off at the Kink, at about 120 MPH, twice! It was raining so hard that the track was just a grass lined river of brown water," laughs Robert. "I was so far off the course one time that I figured the race officials would figure that I was in a different zip code and they could just leave me out there...they didn't thank goodness. They did get the tow truck stuck getting me out though."

"It was raining really hard when Brett got in as well. Brett did a great job. It was his first time driving a rear wheel drive race car in the rain. All in all we had fun. Wish we'd have finished on the podium, but considering our off course excursions (4 of them), we did OK," adds Robert.

Robert drove for a total of 7.5 hours and Brett drove for 4.5 hours around the 2.8 mile Thunderhill Road course. The duo logged 233 laps (652 miles) in the 12 hour race. They pitted a total of 5 times for 5 minutes 40 seconds. The #15 Canepa Design/PRO COACHING B&B Mazda RX7 consumed 59 gallons of fuel and received 1 new tire during the race. Robert and Brett finished 20 laps behind the E2 class winning Accura Integra R.

*note worthy: Brett and Robert's friends (Speedvision World Challenge Touring car drivers) Ken Dobson and Marc Kirberg won the E1 class aboard their BMW 3 series car. Fellow American LeMans Series driver Randy Pobst with team mate Kim Hisky won overall driving the Crazy Redhead Porsche in the ES class.
